Lanyards are commonly used to display badges, tickets or ID cards for identification where security is required.

Most neck lanyards are made with a polyester, nylon blend and are commonly worn around the neck. Lanyards come in many different colors and styles and are available with many different end fittings. The most common style of lanyard is the breakaway lanyard. Breakaway is a safety feature that allows the neck cord to be removed without having to slip the lanyard over your head. When you pull on a breakaway lanyard the plastic piece that is the breakaway pulls apart allowing for the lanyard to be removed. Breakaway is a safety feature and is not meant to be used on a daily basis for removing the lanyard, it is meant to be used only if you get caught in something. Custom lanyards are great because you can customize them with your company name or logo, promoting your company while your employees wear their required ID badge.
